School and Outreach Programs Offered by Kellogg Environmental Center   Classes may register for environmental programs to come to the classroom using Zoom or your school's preferred platform. Programs are available for grade level 4th and higher are presented using a variety of interactive platforms and tools to engage students in learning and to share their ideas.

Dinosaur Track Casting   Have you ever wanted to have your own dinosaur footprint? At Dinosaur State Park you can make your own plaster cast from a real ~ 200 million year old Eubrontes footprint! The casting area at Dinosaur State Park contains real dinosaur footprints likely made by a dinosaur similar to a Dilophosaurus. The casting area is open Tuesdays through Sundays, May 1 to October 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Masks must be worn and physical distancing maintained in this area.There is no fee to use this area but park guests must bring their own materials. Upon arrival please make your way to the casting area. Please call 860-529-5816 if you need assistance making the cast. For each cast you will need: 10 pounds of Plaster-of-Paris (no substitutions) 1/4 cup cooking oil Five gallon bucket Cloth rags and paper towels The park provides: Eubrontes tracks Metal rings Water

Full Moon Hike   Join Goodwin staff for a slow-paced moonlit night hike along the Yellow and Yellow-Red Trails on the eastern side of Pine Acres Pond. We’ll switch our flashlights off and walk by the light of the moon, while listening and looking for signs of nocturnal wildlife.
